2009 Board of Directors
The Fulton River District Board of Directors is made up of local area residents and business owners who are all volunteers. Board members are elected to two year terms.

Larry Gage—President

Larry has been the president of the FRDA since 2007. He recently became active in the FRDA, working with both the Development and Parks and Green Space Committees. Larry Gage and his wife Maria moved to the Chicago area about two years ago. He is a member of The CBOE and a partner in a private trading firm employing twenty-one people. Prior to moving to Chicago, Larry lived in the Philadelphia area for twenty years. He was extremely active with The Philadelphia Stock Exchange. Elected to The Board of Governors, he also chaired The Foreign Currency, The Rules, and The Admissions Committees while serving on The Executive, The Technology and The Options Committees. For several years he also volunteered as the Scout Master of local Boy Scout Troop 176, and raised money annually for the local American Cancer Society. Larry graduated with a BS degree from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. He continues to serve as a Director of the Phi Gamma Delta House Corporation there.

The Secretary edits the newsletter, records in words and photos event happenings, takes minutes at board meetings and provides content for the website. Anyone interested in becoming the FRDA Secretary please contact Larry Gage.
Carol Gilmore—Treasurer

Carol Gilmore has been a Fulton River District Association board member since April 2006 and Treasurer since October 2006. She moved to Chicago from New York in 1999 and has lived in the Fulton River District neighborhood since 2003. Carol is also the President of her Condo Association, a founder of an Animal Rights Advocacy Group, ATAC (“Alliance Tackling Animal Crimes”), a member of the FRDA’s Parks Committee, and is the person handling all the Membership renewals. Carol chairs the Events Committee and with Maria Gage, co-chairs the Fulton River Dog Association. Carol has a Paralegal Degree from the New York Institute of Technology and works as a legal assistant for a large downtown Chicago law firm. Prior to Chicago, she worked at a prestigious New York Park Avenue law firm dealing with the entertainment industry.

Seth Blumenthal

Seth Blumenthal as been a Fulton River District Association board member since 2007. Seth and his wife Minglei moved to the neighborhood in early 2007, and he has been active in the FRDA ever since. Seth runs the FRDA website and is active on the development committee. Seth has lived in the Chicago metro area since 1992. Prior to moving to the Fulton River District, he lived in the Northwest Suburbs. Seth is an Engineering Manager at GE Healthcare in Barrington, IL. Seth can often be found browsing for goodies at used record stores throughout the city. He was an active private pilot for nearly 10 years and is also active in the Chicagoland chapter of the BMW CCA. Seth is currently completing his MBA at the University of Chicago.
Agnes Fong

Agnes Fong is Chair of the Development Committee. Ms. Fong has owned a condominium in the Fulton River District since March 2003. Agnes is a CPA, MST tax manager in the LaSalle Investment Management’s tax practice (a subsidiary of Jones Lang LaSalle Group). LaSalle Investment Management is one of the world’s largest private money management companies which specialize in the real estate market with $40.6 billion of assets under management. Agnes’ client responsibilities include tax compliance, negotiations with tax authorities, tax projection, planning, research and fund structuring. Agnes’ emphasis is on tax planning and compliance, where she provides guidance in structuring of business operations, international taxation and many other tax areas. Agnes is an active member of the tax group at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a member of the organization’s Virtual Grassroots Panel, which addresses issues that affect the entire accounting profession. As an avid theater lover, Agnes served as a board member for two local theatre groups in Chicago. She is now one of the panel members on the City of Chicago City Arts program panel. Agnes received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in Taxation from DePaul University in Chicago. She is currently completing her MBA at DePaul University specializing in real estate.
Sean McCabe

Sean McCabe has lived in the neighborhood since 2004 when he and his wife Sarah moved here due to their belief that the area had immense potential. It is for this same reason he applied to the Board to lead FDRA Membership Committee efforts. Prior to moving to Chicago, Sean and his wife lived and worked in Hong Kong. Sean has a BS degree from The University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Maria Mikel

Maria Mikel has owned a condominium in the Fulton River District since June 2001. She is one of our newest members. Ms. Mikel has over 16 years of business consulting experience. In the past, Maria has been involved in enormous reengineering projects for Fortune 500 companies such as American Express, Ameritech, International Monetary Fund & World Bank and Belgacom (Belgium telecommunications company). She is currently the web coordinator and the Treasurer of a 200 unit building and manages approximately 2 million in budget finances. She also has volunteered for a number of non-profit organizations in the area. She organized a neighborhood yard sale and helped promote the non-profit organization The Glass Slippers that sold items at this sale. She also helped Common Threads redesign their website and helped define their work flow for their largest annual event. She is also currently the Secretary of the Lincoln Park Parents Association. She created the new brochure for this organization and has set their new goals and outlined their efforts for the coming year. Ms. Mikel was the founder of the Kinzie Station Play Group that has affected over 60+ families in our neighborhood. Ms. Mikel also coordinated the Fall Clean and Green event and recruited neighbors and city entities to focus and clean our neighborhood. Ms. Mikel graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's Degree in Management.
