Prairie Fire is launching its first weekly guest bartender night on

February 9 with television journalist and Tallgrass Beef owner Bill Kurtis

and his partner Donna LaPietra.

Every Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., guest bartenders chosen

from the restaurant's long list of friends and associates will be mixing

signature drinks behind the Prairie Fire bar. Each guest bartender will

have the opportunity to collaborate with head mixologist Daniel Sviland to

create a unique cocktail, or may serve one of his or her personal standbys.

All profits from the sale of the special cocktail will be donated to the

guests' charity of choice.

Kurtis and LaPietra will be serving a Cherry Lime Rickey, with proceeds

going to the Green City Market. In honor of the specialty cocktail, Chefs

Sarah Stegner and George Bumbaris will prepare a special appetizer of

grilled skewers of Tallgrass beef to accompany the drink.
