Tree Lighting Ceremony150 PEOPLE ATTEND THE TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY AT KINZIE PARK Over 150 people braved the winter cold and attended the tree lighting ceremony on December 5, 2009 in Kinzie Park. Residents were treated to the wondrous sounds of the Skinner School 3rd Grade Chorus. Alderman Brendan Reilly (42nd Ward) had the honors of lighting the Holiday Tree (designed by Chris Mandolini) which will remain in the park until the middle of January. Hot chocolate and cookies were provided to all who attended by the Starbucks on Lake and Jefferson Streets. Special thanks to Trevor and Maria Mikel, Koli Donohue, Erin Rodriguez, Maria Gage, Chris Mandolini, Alderman Reilly and all the Skinner School singers!
